Tvasta Aditya covers the degrees of the Zodiac that align with Tropical Virgo. For more on how to calculate Adityas, see my post, Calculating Adityas & Their Correspondence to Tropical Signs

Tvasta

The Love of Creating Forms. Vishwakarma is another name for Tvasta. Tvasta means “Divine Architect”. All forms are created by Tvasta and he holds all forms together. He is the maker of divine weapons and vehicles. Tvasta’s job is to create what is most needed. His ruler is Venus.

No matter how many forms are built, the need and capacity for new forms exist. Utility is what drives the new form. Anytime forces come together and there is a need for a form to emerge, that is Tvasta. When there is a need, these people are creative and can find solutions. They can see the form the solutions will take. They do not get hung up on convention, it’s about usefulness and utility.

Tvasta people are good inventors. They can develop the next new thing. They are not restricted by previous forms.

Tvasta is a friend to humans and promotes the well-being of humans. He cut the rays of the Sun so his daughter could be with the Sun and so humans could stay alive.

In mythology, when beings cannot be killed, it is Tvasta that invents the divine weapon.

Tvasta cannot be self-serving, what he creates must be beneficial for everyone. When people make it about “me and mine
, that is when this Aditya fails.

Tvasta is the divider of forms, he divides Spirit into Nature. Saturn is the Air element that creates the sense of Touch and through Touch, we perceive forms. The light beams touch our corneas for sight, the sound waves touch our ear drums to hear, odor molecules touch sensory neurons high in the nose, substances touch receptor cells on the tongue. There is affinity between Tvasta and Saturn.

Tvasta gives gifts. Creating forms is how those with Tvasta prominent create love. There is a love of giving and creating for others.

When afflicted, people don’t feel they have gifts to give. They don’t believe in themselves. They can be selfish, all they can do is take because this is a charitable Aditya. They can give to manipulate and make people obligated to them.

Jamadagni Rishi

Jamadagni is the Law of Paternal Law.

Jamadagni is a Brahmin and his son Parasurama is a warrior. The swap between Brahmin father and Kshatriya children shows the possibilities to change our natures. This portion of space is where we get to change our behavior which is subjected to our environment.

Jamadagni has capacity for manifestation. He possesses the magical cow to manifest whatever he wants. When healthy, the person can find the means to pay for what they want. When unhealthy, troubles manifest. This Rishi can see the truth about the abuse of power and destroy those who abuse their power.

The bow is the spine. Weapon of spirituality. Quality of being a spiritual warrior because of having Vishnu’s bow.

What Jamadagni Rishi does is due to paternal lineage and maternal lineage. Jamadagni represents paternal law. Generations have huge influences upon each other. We have genetic tendencies that can be brought out by the environment and by choosing our environment, we can choose which genetic tendencies will be manifested. If this Aditya is afflicted, the person has an abusive paternal law.

We have a lot of latent, genetic tendencies and discover them through different environments. Through that we discover what our latent genetic tendencies are.

An Aditya that enjoys travel. Traveling and moving around ignites latent tendencies. The environment or situation is designed to bring out latent potentials. Potentials are brought out by circumstances.

Brahmapeta Rakshasa

Rakshasa 4

The Rakshasa is a demon that pushes the Chariot forward.

Brahmapeta is not a scary, man-eating Rakshasa. These Venus Rakshasas are where the healing takes place. If these Rakshasas are afflicted, healing the Rakshasa force in our life is more difficult. When Saturn is in Venus Adityas, there is a capacity to heal that Rakshasa force. It demonstrates the importance of Venus in rejuvenation, healing and moving forward with lessons learned from problems we have experienced.

Brahma is the creative force. Apeta means “gone away from”. This means he has decided to go away from his family and leave his lineage to bring out more potentials from a different environment.

This Rakshasa has control over his urges therefore he prospers in life. Relationships are critical to whether you prosper in life. The right relationship will help you prosper, the wrong will take your prosperity. Prosperity and trade are a major focus.

We want our lives to move forward and have prosperity in everything, in love, success, and wealth. We want our lives to work better here on Earth. In order to do that, we need to control the Rakshasa nature. Saturn, which is in control of the Rakshasa force, is exalted at this Aditya. When afflicted, the person has no control over their Rakshasa force. Any damaged Rakshasas you see in the chart will be nearly impossible to contain. Examine Venus and the Adityas of Venus (Aryama and Tvasta) to discern a person’s capacity to step away from their Rakshasa force.

The way to see if a person is healing within themselves is to evaluate if they have more or less harmony in their relationships. It is easy to have harmony when you’re single and have wealth and success.

If our relationships have a lot of problems or we are attracting people with major drama, there is a Rakshasa force deep within us that needs healing. Relationship drama indicates problems with the Rakshasa force.

Brahmapeta is a Kubera devotee. We want our lives to work, we desire prosperity. Either we can control our Rakshasa force, or we can’t and Brahmapeta indicates how much we can control it. Brahampeta does it so our life on Earth is better. What is the chance of healing the Rakshasa force? Examine Venus, Praheti and Brahmapeta to see the possibility of improving the person’s Rakshasa forces.

Kambala Naga

Kambala

Kambala means “wool blanket”. Kambala is worn by Shiva as his right earring. Musical Naga.

At first, this Naga was a musical teacher. He is a musical expert and on the ear of Shiva. This tells us that music has a particular purpose and that is transformation. Music always transforms. This transformative power of sound is embodied in Kambala nagas.

Kambala resides at the holiest place on Earth a Naga can be. Worldly Venus through Kambala Naga has a spiritual purpose.

Kambala is a wool blanket which is a cover, a cover to what we really are. The wool blanket is very intricate. All these fibers woven together and then you cover yourself. Venus is used for temperature regulation, which is clothing, blanket, etc. It also represents anything used in the mating ritual.

Kambala Naga helps us remove this blanket. Kambala Naga is about getting unstuck from all the great things in life. We finally get to a place where we think our life is working and Kambala frees the chariot from this complacency.

Tvasta is a moveable Sign about change. Inherently, Kambala wants to change and ultimately that is transformation on a spiritual level because he is close to Shiva. Anything taking part in Shiva’s battle is there for spiritual transformation. Eighth house is about breaking free, it is the battle. Venus rules Aryama which is 8th from Tvasta.

The Kambala force does not let us rest in the quagmire of material things. When life is great materially, Kambala says, “It’s not good enough! We want to go deeper.” While Venus gives the best of the world, she also propels us to see meaning where there is none, to see below the surface. When we examine Kambala Naga, we look at the person’s ability to stay in the mundane or go deeper. It cannot be at peace with attachment to worldly things. Let go of self-importance and the grand illusion of attachment to social status, all kinds of relationships, luxuries, being respected by society., The reason Kambala can do that is because of Saturn. Saturn rules the 4th and 5th from Kambala and is exalted here. Saturn is also a Yogakaraka for Aryama. Saturn excels at loss and giving things up. Saturn in Tvasta is trading. Trade that which not real for that which is real. Trade something that is not really important to me for something that is important. Tvasta and Kambala help us to let go of what is no longer important. Tvasta has the easiest time of letting go  than any other Aditya.

Saturn gets rid of what is not real. Kambala afflicted, the person doesn’t want to trade ego attachment to a certain self-image or trade lies for truth and spiritual liberation. Nagas ruled by benefic planets are always spurring us onward because the Moon, which rules the Nagas in general, is lovesick. No matter what the Moon has, she is lovesick for more. Kambala Naga

helps us shed all the covers of our identity, the illusion of who we think we are and it does that with the help of the 8th house (Aryama Aditya), which is about transformation.

Tvasta is actually an Aditya that is very productive for spiritual development, even though it is ruled by worldly Venus.

Shatajit Yaksha

Rathachitra Yaksha

The Yaksha harness the Chariot to the horses.

Guruda Purana and Vishnu Purana gives the name as “Ritajit”. “Jit” means conquering or acquiring. Shata means 100. Shatajit means to win 100, to acquire 100, to have victory over 100.

Rita is similar to Rishi, which means righteousness, what is right in the sense of if it is True. Jit means victory. To conquer righteously, to win with righteousness.

When we win righteously, we win 100. It’s not just about keeping our eye on the target and saying, “I’ve got to get to this no matter what” but its also about how we get there, self-respect, living without guilt, etc.

When someone does something righteously, it is not all about the final end. If it were that way, then sure, let’s do whatever  it takes, cheat, lie, steal, deceive, manipulate to get it. But it is never about these deceptions which Venus understands.

Venus insisted the Asuras play righteously even though they could lose. Venus  understands that every action we do has multiple consequences and actions are not just about the end goal. Venus is the poet and sees meaning where there is none, sees below the surface.

In the world, we need a healthy foundation and that means we need to acquire righteously, according to the agreement. We must play by the rules which is Vivisvan, whose Rishi is the father of Venus, whose moolatrikona is Tvashta. Through playing by the rules, we acquire more than just winning one thing. Even if we lose, Venus knows we will get 100 things.

If afflicted, people twist righteousness. They have paternal law issues. Their lives are full of problems.

Everything that is lost because of playing righteously, because the person could have cheated, they gained more by playing righteously in the end. That which is gained righteously is more important than that which is lost righteously. We will conquer and win 100 things if we play righteously.

Parasara tells us that Venus is the greatest benefic. For our life to work out on Earth, Venus is the most helpful planet. Jupiter is strong in Water Signs which are not about making the world work which are Air and Earth Adityas. Jupiter is also strong in Fire Signs, Signs of living as the Self.

Playing by the rules, playing righteously, is how this Yaksha harnesses the chariot to the horses.

Dritarashtra Gandharva

Gandharva 5

Gandharvas are demi-gods that are warriors and musicians. They sing in front of the Chariot to inspire it forward.

Dritarashtra means “holding the kingdom firmly”. Through the paternal lineages, kingdoms have been passed on for generations.

Saturn is exalted in this Gandharva and rules the 4th house from it. The 4th house is the kingdom itself. Saturn is Yogakaraka for Tvasta because it rules the 4th and 5th. Saturn represents longevity. If we have a good Saturn, our body lasts longer. A troubled Saturn means that the person has a hard time letting go of things they are forced to let go.

Whenever Sun, Moon or Mars starves Saturn, we are putting energy into something that Is not us, that we shouldn’t be doing. How long can that last? A good Saturn makes sure we don’t waste energy on things that are not ours, therefore they are a reflection of us and last longer. Saturn rules 5th which is paternal law giving the kingdom to the next generation.

This Aditya is about value and this Gandharva holds onto things of value. The 4th house rules the bank, valuable things, artwork. Saturn exalted here holds onto what is of value. Saturn is very much about long-term investments, it knows that which gains value over time is the most valuable.

The Gandharva force is the force that makes things happen. This force wants to do that in a long-term fashion here. You will not see a bitcoin genius in Tvashta.

To get the nature of this Gandharva, look at the 2nd and 7th house which Mars rules from this Gandharva. 2nd house is wealth, 7th house is what you trade, so it’s what you have to exchange. It takes effort to turn resources (2nd house) into a trade (7th house). Mars is important because Tvashta is the 7th Aditya and Mars rules the 7th from Tvashta which is trade, exchange.

If afflicted, the Gandharva can hold onto things that should be thrown away like a hoarder. Every Gandharva has a leadership quality. Dritarashtra can lead people to get ahead.

They are able to keep what works. A lot of people can get something but they cannot keep it. Anything that is good, this Gandharva can figure out how to keep it. A lot of people want to keep something but they won’t fight to keep it. Dritarashtra will fight for something even after it feels like it has become a burden.

Every relationship comes to a point of questioning if it should continue. The #1 thing that will keep it on course is recognizing the value in it. Then the couple will be willing to deal with the problems. If it has no value, they will not.

Dritarashtra can inspire others to fight for something valuable. If afflicted, the person won’t fight for what is valuable or will fight for things that have no value.

Tilottama Apsara

Apsara

The Apsara is the celestial nymph that dances in front of the Chariot to give a feeling, a mood, to move forward.

Tila means “sesame seed”, “a small grain”, “the smallest part of something”, “the finest part of something”. Uttama in astrology is “the best” so Tilottama means the best in little things.

She represents the value inherent in femininity. She is not only a sexually arousing beauty, its rather she is everything that is good, the best of everything, this is priceless.

Physical beauty is never priceless because the eyes are always looking for something different. The visual beauty is all about change, the eyes want to see a change of scenery. We’re designed to want a change of scenery and notice beauty, it’s the differences that are beautiful. The reason is because humans are meant to be nomads. Humans can travel more miles on foot than any other creature. We’re designed to wake up to a different view on a regular basis, to notice what is different in the environment. We’re designed to notice danger and opportunities in the environment.

Visual beauty will never last as the most beautiful. The qualities are what is the most beautiful. Tilottama is the most valuable of the Asparas because of her qualities. She represents the feeling that arises when we want something valuable. Gain from trade because it is valuable. Tilottama gives us the feeling of, “That’s valuable!” when we feel something valuable, that is Tilottama. In the end, we only stick with things that add value to our lives.

Once we develop these great qualities, we can slip into pride very easily and that is something we need to monitor. The most likely sin for Brahmins to have is pride because they are so magical.

When afflicted, the person will believe something is valuable or has good qualities when it does not. They can also have amazing qualities but don’t recognize their value. Or they can try to sell qualities that they don’t really possess. They don’t feel the qualities they carry with them. Air Signs are important because they are humans in Zodiacal Astrology, and humans need to feel their valuable qualities. If they cannot feel it, they won’t use it and not build a beautiful life out of it. When skewed, you can see qualities in others that are not there and you can miss qualities in people that are there.
