Amzu Aditya covers the degrees of the Zodiac that align with Tropical Scorpio. For more on how to calculate Adityas, see my post, Calculating Adityas & Their Correspondence to Tropical Signs
Amzu
Amzu means a ray, a part or portion. It is also called Amsa which is a beam that illuminates something. These sunbeams endow what they shine upon with the intelligence of the Sun.
The rays of Amzu illuminate what is good within us. Everything is illuminated in a specific, individualized way through Amzu. If healthy, we have your own light. If unhealthy, we are searching for our own light. We look inside and its dim. When dim we don’t understand our purpose. When it is bright, we live it. The uniquely good within us does not need modification. It is the highest, most noble part of our individuality
Each ray of the Sun is something unique. It differentiates into an individual way of being. When strong people are living as themselves, they are not waiting to become a Brahmin rishi to live as themselves. Living as yourself is shining in your beauty and truth wherever you are. Amzu manifests how you live your life.
Five great warriors are connected to Amzu:
- Parega = bar that locks a gate. Keeps things out. Stand your ground.
- Vata = surrounded. Accomplishment by surrounding something. When we focus on something, we must do it through every angle. We must surround our goal to have success.
- Bhima = Full of Awe. Taking something to a high level. Gives the ability to be awesome. To fully live out our virtue. Doing something at our highest level of potential.
- Dahana & Dahitti = Burning. Gives the ability to burn it all down and say “I’m done with it!” Burn through what doesn’t matter. Afflicted, much more difficult to burn the garbage out of our lives, but not impossible.
Mars does fantastic when placed in Amzu.
Kashyapa Rishi
The Rishi walks behind the Chariot seeing the Truth and Divine Law.
Kashyapa Rishi is the Law of What You Create – the Law of Progeny.
The Love of this Aditya is Love of what is good in oneself. Self-directed Love. We want to do more of what is good within us. It focuses and channels the good into something we can do that contributes and is divine. If afflicted, the person tries to find the good in themselves through other people.
Indra Aditya is the trine, the foundation of self-love and Amzu is the refinement of that love. Between these two Adityas, the degree to which a person loves themselves is seen.
The first Aditya is Dhata which is someone who supported us and bore us. Afflicted, there is a lack of that. In addition, Dhata represents the love we have for ourselves as a result of supporting others. When we help the helpless, we become heroic, we have heroic self-love, the self-love of a protector.
All three fire Adityas have an element of love of self. Amzu is the most specific, unique love of Self. “I love what is good in me and that defines my meaning and purpose.” This includes the love of what one creates. Whatever is good within us is a creative force bringing ingenuity into the world.
Kashyapa is the progenitor of Adityas, animals, humans, nagas. He is the great-grandfather of humanity. Love of what we create. Father of Agni. The phenomena of human drama, human evolution, why we are here, all happen with this Rishi. He is Father of human drama.
Aditi means undivided. She is the undivided circle that her children, the Adityas, divide into twelve. From her are born the Gods and the Asuras or Ditas. They are akin to the Titans in Greek mythology or Giants in Norse mythology. Asura means “not light”. We have two forces within us, the Devas (Gods) and Asuras.
Kashyapa is where we get our spiritual focus because we are so divided. The Truth emerges out of ourselves. This is the portion of the Zodiac that gives spiritual breakthroughs.
Kashyapa is focused on creating and/or making babies. Sex doesn’t matter if children are not involved. Children need to be a factor. The rules around sex are varied from culture to culture. No culture has agreed on what is good or bad with regard to sexual activity.
We, as humans, dramatize sex because it is such a powerful force. All our psychological wounds get so wound up in the drama and how meaningful it is. The parts of us that want to be noble and do the right thing get so judgmental about it. An internal conflict emerges around sex because of the different dictates of our culture /religion that may or may not apply to how our life is unfolding.
When afflicted, people create these fantasies that sex will give them everything they are seeking, they are not in touch with their goodness, so the good thing is how they will have sex.
The sexual force is the strongest force in the human body but it means nothing until there is a child. The type of sexual activity a person has does not reflect on their character or capability, on their caring, giving, or anything that matters. Only when there are children does it matter because now there is a responsibility.
When the sexual force becomes the most important is when it controls a person. The Dark Force is stronger. The greater the consciousness of separation, the greater the sexual energy wants to be released. Serial Killers have no connection within themselves and need sex to connect. People should be able to feel connected without having sex.
The Law of Progeny states that what we create matters and what we create gives us purpose.
What we create defines our purpose. We cannot separate creation from purpose. The Law of Progeny means: Until you create it, it doesn’t matter. We must love the whole being of our children.
All this motivation to live, shine and be radiant comes from Kashyapa. All amazing creation comes from striving against psychosis and that is Kashyapa, he is the father of Light and Dark forces.
Vidyut Shatru Rakshasa
Vidyut means Lightning and Shatru means Enemy. Blast the enemy with lightning. Lightning is high level spirituality because it is an aspect of Brahma. It is the flash that removes darkness, destroys evil. Amzu has the capacity for intuitive flashes. In one moment, everything is illuminated. This illumination blasts the internal enemies which are keeping us stuck. This is where we get the spark that raises our consciousness. We get it, a sudden flash of understanding if we go through something difficult. The same occurs if Jupiter is healthy in a horoscope. If Jupiter or Vidyut is afflicted, it takes a lot more for the person to have spiritual understanding.
The lightning is the TRUTH. Why? Because of our spiritual practice. We focus this ray into our spiritual practice. That’s why Jupiter is the spiritual guru, whereas Venus is about how we make our life work in the physical world, so we get the nourishment we need.
Lightning, which is the weapon of Indra, is part of Vidyut. The Sun is the soul of all and Jupiter is god showing up individually as that flash that takes us to the next level. Jupiter is the love of expressing what is good in you.
Mahasankha Naga
The Naga releases the Chariot from its fetters. Nagas are ruled by the Moon.
Mahasankha means the Great Conch. Other places it is called MahaPadma which means Great Lotus. Also called SankhaPadma which is Conch Lotus.
MahaPadma is a white lotus, which is one of the most iconic spiritual symbols in Hinduism and it shows an exalted state of spirituality. Lotuses are found in mud symbolizing we live in this world with all this stuff happening, all this chaos, but we rise above it.
Mahasankha Naga is surrounded by what is troubling, by relatives, friends, the world having problems and can get stuck in all that ugliness. This Naga frees us from all of that. Just be the most beauteous, inspired, individualized person possible and no worries.
Mahasankha is where we do our good part (by being ourselves and following our inspirations) to make the world a better place. We cannot do that if we are stuck in the mud, attached to problems, worries, blaming. Then we get stuck and our chariot cannot move forward towards greater love.
Rise above it all and ride on goodness. Do what is possible without the mud of life having an effect. When healthy, we don’t stop doing the beautiful things we do when bad things happen. When the mud comes to our doorstep, are we going to attach ourselves and live in it? Or are we focusing on the beauty and good within us which is a part of spiritual growth?
Mahasankha represents the Conch, the Sound, the Sound of AUM. All other sounds are differentiated through the Five Elements. What are we listening to? By keeping attuned to the beautiful sound, our chariot is not stuck in the mud. We can get lost in those negative vibrations and start living out the terror, worry, anxiety, all the results of those vibrations. Maintain a level of peace and do what is possible instead of falling into that vibration. No matter what happens, do what we love to do.
We don’t have to think about the Naga unless its afflicted. The Naga force is the most natural force. The Nagas emit a natural light which keeps the underworld from being completely dark. Nagas bring light. The light of the Nagas keeps us from falling into the darkness of the unconsciousness.
So much of our darkness comes from not feeling good about ourselves. We act out in many ways to prove we are worthy of love, attention, and connection. All we have to do is live out the love of the Aditya. Our highest Dharma is to express the love of the Aditya. We’re all going to do that in unique ways according to the Adityas the planets fall within.
Tarkshya Yaksha
The Yaksha is a Nature Spirit that harness the Chariot to the horses which represent power. Yakshas are ruled by Mercury.
Tarkshya means speed and is equated with a horse, a winged horse and a bird or eagle. Tarkshya is also another name of Guruda, the divine heavenly bird.
The force of Tarkshya helps the Sun rise. It is the creative spark of the Sun coming through a particular human. Equated with dawn.
If the creative force of Tarkshya is repressed in any way, it will harm a person. It must be expressed healthily along our inspired lines. When the creative sexual energy is not expressed in a healthy way, it gets very destructive. Energy needs to be used and transmuted or will find another way to be expressed. We get off our path because we cannot focus. If we deviate from our path, we have accidents. This is the Yaksha of drunk driving.
Focus comes from Tarkshya and he is there to keep us focused. Get a balance beam and walk on it. We must focus our gaze on one thing and that will stabilize us, then we can walk across the tight rope or balance beam. It’s when we lose our focus that we get dizzy, have accidents, and fall off.
Are you focused? Able to maintain balance and go where you want? Or are we unfocused and distracted by everything that comes by and therefore, unbalanced? What is the focus point? It is the inspiration.
The inspiration is the fire in us that we are to be guided by. That inspiring light is designed to guide us. As life unfolds, are we able to maintain that focus? This Yaksha allows us to see if we can maintain our focus. If it is weak, we are distracted by many different things and twenty years passed by and we are no closer to having achieved an inspiration.
It’s normal to not have focus. Those who have this Aditya strong have an enormous capacity to stay focused on inspiration. While they are dealing with responsibilities, there is always focus on that inspiration. Even though they may have to take care of something else that takes two weeks or more, they are still moving forward with their inspiration. There is an opportunity to move toward with our inspiration with every event that comes into our life. If we keep our focus, we see the gem in any situation.
Fire Adityas are not concerned with what others are doing or societal approval. If we are concerned about societal approval, then we are not doing our Fire Adityas correctly It doesn’t mean it is hurtful, insensitive or inconsiderate to others, but that we need to have this experience.
Jupiter has to do with the liver and one of the names of Jupiter is Jiva (Life). Liver comes from “to live”. The liver is keeping the body alive if other organs cannot keep up. That is why a strong Jupiter on an angle will keep us healthy and keep us alive in the face of other adversities in our chart. Inspired focus keeps us going, no matter what drama or what is failing around us. Failure always happens in life but a strong focus on inspiration pulls us through.
There is never a reason for the journey to stop. The journey comes out of the fire of the Self. If we are on the journey, it does not require someone else but we can bring them along as they fit for as long as they fit. If we become attached to that which comes along for the journey, it is very limiting. It is a state of intoxication to lose sight of that journey we are on.
Ritasena Gandharva
The Gandharva is a warrior-musician demi-god that sings in front of the Chariot to inspire it forward. The Gandharvas are ruled by Mars.
In the Kali Yuga, it was all about culture, the family and societal rules. Many old world cultures decided to sacrifice individuality for the sake of the culture and maintaining its sense of order. All cultures stagnate eventually. Because of this, the creative force of Ritasena/Amzu has been neglected.
Ritasena is the ability to overcome everything, to be radiant, to shine, to be powerful because we are coming from a place of truth in ourselves. Anything we do out of a lie to ourselves, will fail.
Ritasena is superhuman. A force exists in all of us that can go above and beyond our human progressive nature.
Ritasena shows the truthful way a person can follow to express the creative truth of their being. People have lots of talents but their life has stalled and none of these talents have gone anywhere. That is because they have not focused on that one creative truth of their being. The only thing that can stop the good we are here to express, is ourselves. Only our pathologies can stop that. When we stop something in ourselves, we look for worldly reasons.
Listen to the Ritasena force, what is true in you cannot be shut down, ended, stopped, except if you deny it. If you acknowledge it, the right doors in the world will open.
The Magic of Ritasena is the courageous force of living as ourselves. This is not an excited, pathological excitement, it is a deep knowing in our being. We do not force ourselves to do it, we just find ourselves doing it because it is truthful. It is everyone’s job to respect this force more than their pathologies.
As an infant, caregivers around us may not reflect our Soul nature. The family around us is not supporting our Soul force, hurting themselves and others, oftentimes doing what they think is best. The infant begins collecting negative energy and attaching itself to these uncomfortable traumatic moments of fear and dread. We begin to identify with traumas instead of it being a passing moment. Because of the fear of being helpless, we hold onto the negative energy and identify with it due to the negativity of others around us. We lose the differentiation of our true nature and our pathologies.
The most important part of healing is to identify the parts that are not us and release them.
No matter what someone does, we should be able to handle it emotionally. Being aligned with the Truth of our Spirit (Ritasena), what we do succeeds and nothing will stop that because it is meant to be. But pathology oftentimes inhibits what is meant to be.
If we have afflicted planets but Ritasena is strong, we can still succeed with our inherent goodness and creativity. When afflicted, the priority is to re-arm ourselves with the Truth and not our pathologies. Start with affirmations and subconscious therapy until we believe the Truth about ourselves. Until then, we will make wrong choices. The only thing that ensures victory is being aligned with the Truth of ourselves. Ritasena is fighting to align us with the Truth of ourselves.
Urvazi Apsara
Apsaras are celestial nymphs that dance in front of the Chariot to give a mood, a feeling, an ambiance, to entice the Chariot forward. She is aligned with water and is ruled by Venus.
Ur means wide, expansive. Vazi means pervading, influencing, attracting. She has a wide influence, all-pervading, an expansive attraction. She’s not like the other Apsaras where she plays on one part of the person. Urvazi has a wide influence and can play on a range of emotions. Every person she encounters, she creates a different mood. The mood she creates within a person is the mood to be themselves, the mood to be the best version of themselves.
Ur can also mean “the heart” and Vazi means “control”, so she is the one that controls the heart.
In a relationship, two people should regard each other as inspiration (Gandharva) and feeling (Apsara). The best way to do that is if both continue to grow as themselves.
She doesn’t arouse any specific type of feeling but the feeling that the person can express dynamically as themselves. The beauty within is greater than anything in the outer world. When we are attracted to beauty and want beautiful things in our lives is because we are not fully aware of our own beauty.
She is worshipped for success and love affairs. It does not mean infidelity, rather we desire to be deeply and passionately in love with someone.
She is connected to Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva reiterating the fact that she can create all these moods. If you need to go to war and you do not feel violent, she will appear and make you feel violent.
The next day is ushered in by the dawn, which is Urvazi. Urvazi is what we wake up impassioned to try every day. We have the feeling of trying something again no matter what happened the day before. She gives us an opportunity to try again in the new day what is unique to us and what we are passionate about. Without passion, trying is a blind undertaking and we are not paying attention.
She is not there to help or guarantee success, she is there to impassion, and the work is our responsibility. Dawn cares about giving the opportunity, not helping. It’s up to us to express our creativity. The only thing that we are going to come back to day after day is a passion that is true to us. If we wake up with a feeling, a passion, to try something, we should. Every day is literally a new day. Everything could be completely different the next day.
If afflicted, a person is not in the mood to be who they really are.
