Dhata Aditya: Essence and Symbolism
Dhata is the creator, bearer, and supporter of life, emphasizing the importance of supporting others and being supported in return. The concept of support is central—wealth, health, and community all depend on mutual support and commitment. Affliction to Dhata through a challenging planetary states (Lajittaadi Avashtas) in this context means an inability to use time well or support others, leading to personal and communal struggles.
The Sister of Dhata is Lakshmi, goddess of prosperity. Prosperity does not equal wealth. Wealth belongs to Kubera, King of the Yakshas. The ability to get what you need when you need it, is prosperity.
Dhata’s energy is linked to the mother figure, the force of Agni (fire) in Mother Earth, and the regularity of support as a life-sustaining force. However, Dhata’s power of creating and supporting does not necessarily lend the person to want to be a mother or act like one. This support can manifest in a myriad of ways.
Dhata’s support is about enabling independence, not dependency.
Dhata and Vidhata are paired forces because they are brothers. Dhata supports, Vidhata takes away support, so that we can develop self-sufficiency.
The quality of support received in childhood shapes one’s ability to maintain life force, wealth, and healthy relationships unless the person takes on the process of healing and transmutation. This, of course is connected to the healing of the avasthas (planetary states).
The health of one’s energy (Naga force) determines the flow of support in life. The naga force is the prana or chi flowing through the nadis. Releasing emotional blocks through breathwork or other practices, in addition to awareness and repetition of correct thinking, will allow the flow of chi in its proper channels and translates into healed emotions.
True support allows for self-sufficiency; overbearing support can be destructive.
Pulastya Rishi
Pulastya Rishi gives the Law of Protection. All Rishis have a divine law. Dhata is the Love that gives strength to carry burdens. It is like Mother Earth giving energy and resources to humans. Turning what could be a burden into something easy and joyful is the Love of Dhata. Were we born with the love of a bearer or were we born with no love from a bearer or not that type of love? This quality of treatment will determine the level of psychosis we are born with and will struggle with in our life. Being treated as a burden will give all types of issues
In relationships, we gladly bear the burden for awhile but eventually we expect the other person to have a level of self-sufficiency. It’s not possible to bear a burden forever. Eventually, it needs to become a 2-way street. There is a limit to all types of love, otherwise the love becomes destructive because the dependent never matures into independence.
The primary race Pulastya created are the Rakshasas. Raksha means ‘to protect’. They are protectors but also those to be protected against. This has a lot of psychological implications.
We become wounded as children, then attempt to protect ourselves from that pain. The force protecting us is the Rakshasa force. These forces protect us but they can cause the very thing we fear because we continue to protect ourselves in situations that do not call for it.
All those wounded protective measures don’t work. If the mother bears us well, we have very little to be protected against. For all the separations from the bearer (mother), the Rakshasas are born because we were not supported in a healthy way.
A lot of people will have the spiritual maturity to understand that to be truly protected, they need to become a spiritual aspirant. True protection results from developing inwardly, psychologically and spiritually. It is that development that protects us. Not low-level Rakshasas mired in false ideas of reality.
As mentioned, Pulastya = Law of Protection. If this Aditya is afflicted, there will be no protection or over-protection, or protect from things that are not a threat. Protection is never aggression. Afflicted, the person resorts to aggression before that need is there.
Vital strength exists this Aditya. There are powerful inventive qualities of something never invented before.
The worst things people do, is abuse the Law of the Rishi. Compensating for strength, we can make the mistake of using force or manipulating others to carry our weight.
Hetih Rakshasa
The Rakshasa pushes the chariot from behind.
Hetih is the first Rakshasa King. It means ‘weapon’ and has to do with iron and creating weapons. All things made of iron come from Hetih. This is the destructive force that a weapon holds. Within ourselves, we carry this destructive force. This is the Rakshasa force that will lash out. The force we use to overcome, to destroy, to kill is the Hetih force. If Planets are here, this force will be more dominant in our life. When afflicted, Hetih can create havoc with anger issues. The healthy way to use this force, is under the Law of the Rishi, which is the Law of Protection. With this force, it can be psychic where you can hurt people across time and space.
In Jaimini Astrology, he describes Dhata Aditya as ‘five rats and cats’ which means “the strong dominate the weak’. It’s the Hetih force that determines who is the rat or cat. There are forces out there stronger than us that can take from us, so this realization drives the chariot forward, understanding we must get stronger.
Take care of your weaknesses until they are no longer a liability. If there is a single weak thread, someone will show up and exploit that thread. The weaknesses Hetih carries will attract an exploiter, a manipulator, a bully. If there is a place where a person can take advantage of us, we need to strengthen the Hetih force.
The purpose of Dhata is to carry the weak, helpless parts of ourselves until they are strong, develop them, make them stronger. We have to fight where we are strong and strengthen our weaknesses.
An afflicted Hetih means we do not want to acknowledge where we are weak. We don’t want to see any part of ourselves as weak. Their Hetih force will emerge in an aggressive, brutal fashion.
Saturn is where we are weak. It is debilitated in Hetih. It’s the pain that comes from having a weakness. Debilitation comes from “I’m low on this skill, I don’t have a lot talent here.” When Saturn goes to Hetih, he gets taken advantage of. When the Hetih force is healthy, we many feel remorseful when having to use it. We never want to use it but sometimes we are pushed into a corner.
Vasuki Naga
The Naga is the Being that unfetters the chariot.
Vasuki is one of the most famous Naga Kings. Vasuki Naga lives in the Patala region has no measurement, not even of time. All these things in our psyche, that can emerge at any time, that are not relevant to the time of the event actually happening in the present moment, all these psychoses are really happening in the realm of Vasuki. This makes him very important. The Moon, which is one of the Mother planets, rules over this force and has a connection to these timeless traumas in our psyche that has to do with the Mother.
Shiva wears Vasuki as a necklace, wrapped around his neck 3 times (past, present and future). Shiva is to detach us from all attachments that prevent liberation and help us rise above everything that is not an experience of the Divine.
It is what is in our consciousness that we are tied to, that we are stuck to, that keep the contentment energy from flowing. Vasuki has serious mother issues because he was cursed to destruction by his mother for being loyal to Truth. With Vasuki, we are very much dealing with our mother issues. Many of the things in our consciousness that are keeping our chariot from moving forward are the unconscious Mother issues. They are so unconscious because Vasuki is in this realm that is beyond measure and time, meaning our intellect cannot get work through it. Vasuki’s job is to free us from those Mother issues. The separation from mother in infancy is the source of the trauma of all other separations that come later. The Mother issues are affecting us, past, present and future.
As the Sun moves through the Aditya circle, we heal the Mother issues, but the mother is just a symbol of being separated from the Source. Vasuki is the one that will free us from those troublesome Mother issues. It’s the goal of Vasuki to bring us to clarity. It is the Mother issues that are the filters that keep us from seeing with clarity.
Vasuki is of endless length. The spiritual force in our bodies is spiritualizing us day by day. Our psyches are too much to handle yet Shiva can move Vasuki around. Shiva is lord of Yogis where we are frying everything dark within us through some type of yoga practice. The spiritual force within ourselves is not powerful enough to deal with all our issues. These issues are timeless, that is how long the snake is. The yoga practice is what is required to satisfy the Vasuki Naga. You will not be able to get over your wounds through psychoanalysis or any other way.
As we release our Mother issues, a painful process unfolds which is the realization of the things we have done because of these issues. People do horrible things because of their mother issues. We can feel so bad about ourselves, it can make us stop our practice. At that point, we must continue to trust in Siva which is to destroy self-importance and self-pity.
Rathakrit Yaksha
The Yakshas are Nature Spirits that harness the Chariot to the horses which means harnessing the person to their power. Yakshas are ruled by Mercury which is also the Earth element.
There is a reason each of us is different and that reason is given by the Yakshas.
It is not natural to be the same or look the same. It is natural to be different. The natural state of humans is extreme differentiation. There is no model of how we are all supposed to be. We have more extreme differences than any other species. The force of differentiation that the Yakshas play with has been disrespected and they have been all but forgotten. Its natural for humans to want different things.
In highly regulated societies, Yakshas will be considered very mischievous because they encourage us to do something different. In all parts of the world, we see how people are trying to be the same and in doing that, they are neglecting the Yaksha force.
Kubera is directing the Yakshas to express their differentiation. Yes, he is Lord of Wealth which is money but also wisdom. Either one of these is very valuable, either one gets us through life.
It is through following our differentiation that we achieve wealth. No one achieved their highest potential of wealth when they did everything the same as everyone else. The key to wealth is differentiation and the key to wisdom is doing something differently, something that you have not been taught.
Loving and contributing uniquely, differently. There is no soul here that expresses love like anyone else. The Love needs to be expressed wider and broader.
Rathakrit means chariot-maker.
Dhata is considered to be the Maker of the Body, as the Mother he makes the body. Our body is flawless and exactly how it is supposed to be created for our specific experience unique to us.
The first step in harnessing our chariot to our Soul Force is being OK with our body. The body we have is the body that’s going to get the job done. The more stuff going on with that body means you are a more differentiated being here to do some badass shit. Musicians, especially singers, have the most differentiated facial features. These are the people that lead culture, break cultural boundaries.
Rathakrit tells us that every aspect of your body is perfect for what you are here to do. Respecting the uniqueness of my body is going to attract the right things into my life for success and abundance.
Every part of your body is a symbol. Your body is communicating to the unconsciousness of everyone that sees you saying, “this is the person I am.” There is a part in the subconscious that knows what the right partner will look like. The unconscious mind is running the show. The unconscious mind responds to symbols.
Be a natural beauty because the Yaksha is a nature Spirit. The normalcy of humans is to be different. Modern culture is skewed, many people have lost sight of this. A lot of tribal cultures frown upon individuation as well.
“My body isn’t supposed to look this way. I don’t like how my body looks.” Being OK with your body is the foundation of accepting what is different in you. After accepting that, all the differences in you will be easy to accept. Your body has a mission and every nuance on it is there to complete your mission.
Tumburu Gandharva
The Gandharva walks in front of the Chariot to give inspiration.
Tumburu means Horse’s Head. The Sun is often associated with horses. He is the King of the Gandharvas and the best musician. The horse represents the force to march forward.
Tumburu gives wealth and self-development. Dhata is connected to wealth. If Dhata nice, expect wealth, not because we chase wealth but because we live out our essence. If we live as ourselves, wealth is a natural product of that. Fire Adityas have an incredible capacity for wealth but it always manifests when we live as ourselves. It does not emerge when we are trying to figure out how to make money. If we go through a period where we cease to live as ourselves, the wealth diminishes.
People with afflicted planets here struggle with money. They are not living as themselves enough to earn it.
Tumburu is very much about respect. When planets are afflicted, people will not have a sense of respect. Healthy planets indicate they are respectful. They also expect to be respected.
This Gandharva inspires us to purify ourselves and get rid of all the extra baggage and negative energy that does not belong to our true Self.
Kritasthall Apsara
The Apsara is the Feminine force that we use to set a mood, an ambiance, a feeling that will impact the expression of something, make us want to do something and/or have a deeper feeling of connection.
Kritasthall means usable Ground, willed ground, seasonal ground, ground with ghee (fertilizing ground). We have the ground, we have to give it a little something of what it needs, so that it can become a foundation of a greater inspiration. Within ourselves we have ground that can have something flourish.
Seasonal ground means that what works will work only at the right time. Wow, we have all this potential! We can do this! But is it time for us to do that? Maybe in the next year? I can’t plant flowers in November. Kritasthall prepares the ground for something to grow at the right time. We cannot expect someone to create, grow and flourish when it is not the right time for them.
If we could do it all in one moment, we would only exist in one moment. A time exists to work out what we need and that must be respected in ourselves and others. If we don’t respect the timing in others, we will be impatient, frustrated or angry at them. Appreciate the season for what they are growing now.
We need something that comes up and fertilizes this, something that makes all that potential flourish like springtime. Kritasthall gives the final nourishment to unleash that potential. There is no way of knowing what this could be. It is something that creates the mood that unleashes our forces.
This Apsara force will trigger certain things within us and it is our job to keep a healthy foundation, meaning a healthy inner world. By acquiring more internal health, we are not triggered in unhealthy ways. If we are absorbed in our pain, misery or self-importance, we cannot respond to triggers in a healthy, beautiful way.
The Apsaras and Gandharvas are often people that appear in our lives. So often, it is a person that shows up and puts you in a mood, gives a little nourishment that allows your soil to produce what it is ready to produce.
If we are manipulated, we have disease that allowed us to be. An Apsara force can come and make us do something not right for us, but we felt like it was. If that happens, we need to ask ourselves, what is my pathology? Our pathology can put all our powerful energy at the beck and call of someone else rather than the choice of Spirit. We want to express our powerful forces in accordance with who we are and not a powerful manipulator.
The soil of destruction on creativity is sitting there, so ripe, waiting for this last bit of nourishment to come from this Apsara. The crop that comes out is the product of the soil. It is not Kritasthall’s fault. Is your soil ripe for being manipulated or for creativity?
With this Apsara, we must take full responsibility for our responses to things that happen. The fertilizer is only useful because of your soil. We see what is within us because of the Apsara.
Whatever is within you is waiting to grow. Whatever that foundation is, life is going to trigger it. Sometimes, the Apsara force will cause people to be excessive or crazy ways. Excitement must be recognized a pathology.
Emotional health is freedom from passion. What happens in passion never last, things that happen in peace last. Peace is where Truth is. This is difficult to accept because so much of our life revolves around passion. Healthy passion is inspiration. Every afflicted planetary state is putting us in a place of emotional passion that is no healthy and robbing us of peace.
You meet someone and feel passion which is normal but the only real part of that person is peaceful knowing. All other stuff is just noise. We need to grasp what it means to be healthy, recognize what is stimulating our passion and strive for peace.
Emotional peace is the first step to enlightenment and knowing if our soil can grow that peace. We may think, if I just get this person, that job, that car, I will be fulfilled and it will bring peace – no, it won’t. People can make a subtle difference in our life and that is a powerful force because that triggers the outcomes of our foundation. If it is the angry force that is always erupting, we need to work on it.
