Parjanya Aditya covers the degrees of the Zodiac that align with Tropical Aquarius. For more on how to calculate Adityas, see my post, Calculating Adityas & Their Correspondence to Tropical Signs
Parjanya
Parjanya means The Rain. It is the Rain of Spiritual consciousness, the rain of blissful Spirit falling. Parjanya represents the deepest nourishment that trickles into our consciousness.
Parjanya is the producer of vegetation. We want emotional freedom and release but something blocks our way, it is tight and choking us off from greater spiritual realization and emotional happiness. Parjanya breaks the choke so finally things can flow by removing whatever is in the way.
Whenever a drought exists in our life, we have a block. Parjanya releases emotional blocks so our life force can flow. With this Aditya strong, we can work through your issues. Every self-imposed limitation is a block.
Parjanya is the presiding deity of Manas, the mind. Manas is the maker of herbs. Moon is the Creator of this world because our consciousness descends into the Manas then our nervous system. Secondly, because she is the maker of Herbs and Trees. Parjanya is an Aditya of consciousness like Varuna, Indra and Vishnu. Soma (Moon) is associated with Parjanya.
Parjanya needs nothing. He is an Aditya of being, not doing. Parjanya can nourish a vision.
He is a great healing Aditya. The Rishi of Parjanya promotes physical, emotional and mental health.
The children of Parjanya are herbs, plants, anything that grows. He is the husband of the Earth because it’s the rain that causes everything to grow. To grow means becoming bigger, stronger, healthier. Parjanya can bring out growth in others as well.
If unhealthy, we will feel stuck and our life force is blocked. A dark cloud exists that needs to be worked out on a level of consciousness: mantras, affirmations, hypnotherapy. If we are thinking negative thoughts, we are watering the acrid plants. Toxic and noxious. If we cultivate the feelings of appreciation and gratefulness, we grow positive things.
Bharadvaja Rishi
The Rishi walks behind the Chariot seeing the Truth and creating Divine Law. The Law of Bharadvaja is the Law of Health. Living naturally is the most important law for health. Freedom from pollution is part of that law.
Bharadvaja is the offspring of Jupiter. He was raised by a Kshatriya (warrior class). He had a difficult start because there were adultery and premature delivery involved in his birth. Bharadvaja/Parjanya can give a more fragile constitution but also motivate one to learn more about health. He was the first mortal to receive Ayurveda which gave him the capacity to heal. A tremendous rejuvenation quality where a person can rejuvenate and restore dead and dying cells.
This Rishi can get us in trouble for things we did not do.
Our emotional health grows out of our mental health. If we have wrong ideas, we live our life in ways that don’t work and now we are emotionally upset. If afflicted, we do not understand the Mind/Emotions/Body link. We think the symptoms in the body are exclusively from outside sources or genetics. Modern medicine does not consider emotional health but it is starting to.
Health is freedom from disease. We have physical health when we can use our bodies the way we want. We can have emotional health when we are free from passion, which is thinking, “I need this. This will make me happy.” When our wounds are healed, we are free from passion and we have peace. Mental health is freedom from wrong ideas. Wrong ideas are that we are lacking, envy and fear.
Varca Rakshasa
Varca means Vital Power, especially the vital power of the Sun in addition to the illuminating power of Light. Vital Power is accompanied by light. Vidyut (lightning) is also a force of light. Varca Rakshasa makes us radiant if it is healthy.
When a person becomes more spiritually developed, their vital force gets stronger. The vital power is connected to Wisdom and Truth. This vital force spurs us on in our enlightenment quest, it wants full illumination.
The Rishi is the Law of Health and our vital force can help us heal from our wounds like they never existed. It is a force of liberation that allows us to resolve and move away from our demons. Creates radiance and luster and gives the awareness of Truth. When our being is healthy, we do not have problems with our Rakshasas. Mental, emotional and physical health, in that order, creates a state where there is no room for negativity, doubt, fear, or longing. Sheer vital force emerges after healing all of our mental and emotional disease. Physical disease does not matter at that point.
The goal of this Rakshasa is to strengthen our vital force and to heal our psychological wounds. The Varca force will increase our radiance and with that radiance comes joy. When we have the experience, everything we did to get there, all the suffering, it disappears.
We must unlock the block in our mental and emotional bodies. When we meditate or practice some other type of spirituality for upliftment, for raising our vibration, we are removing the blocks to our vital force. When we focus on acknowledging your emotions, we are raising the vital force. Every repressed emotion we have is a block to our vital force.
Emotion occurs within us because we have a paradigm of ideas about something that doesn’t align with our belief system or how we want to live. There is always a mental reason why we feel certain emotions. “If I feel this, I’m not a good person.” Etc. This Rakshasa doesn’t care about any of that. He is the feet and the feet get dirty, they walk in the dirt and mud.
Vivisvan, the opposite Aditya, represents the intestines which is only concerned with taking the good, pure and useful. Parjanya/Varca does not care about right and wrong, good or bad, because its purpose is to remove the blocks. Whether we have good or bad feelings, if we repress any of them, we have a blockage of the vital force. Allow yourself to feel your emotions, otherwise they become blocks to your vital force.
If there are blocks to our vital force, our mental and emotional health declines. It doesn’t matter how wrong we believe our emotions to be, or how they feel to us. Just because we have them doesn’t mean we act upon them.
Acknowledge the feeling, be OK with it, allow the feeling to shift as it needs to. It will either shift our mental paradigm or we acknowledge it and move on.
Feminine Signs are not required to do anything in the outside world, they must work on the internal. Let the feelings and thoughts exist, just let them do their own thing and pass through us. Do not condemn this or that thought. Just observe, do not attach or give importance to it.
Surrendering to the emotions within us, not controlling them will allow us to acquire a better state of health. Vital force has its own intelligence, ruled by Jupiter, just like the lightning. Allows us to move away from the darkness. Every psychological wound we have is a wrong idea. Every wound we have is creating a feeling we do not like that we will repress. If we repress it, how are we going to heal it? By allowing it to flow, the consciousness will guide it. But it cannot guide us the way it needs to if we are repressing. That does not mean we act on our feelings!
When our body is causing problems, that is a signal that we are repressing something emotionally. We will pass those painful emotions with tears. We will cry and the tears wash away the blocks in our consciousness. We must deal with feelings to an extremely honest degree but not over-indulge in them.
Saturn is the Rakshasa force and the pain we must heal then move away from.
We must heal the Rakshasa of the Aditya Saturn occupies. That Rakshasa is the one that has the hold on our Saturn. For Saturn to work most healthily for us, we must heal it. If we have Mars, Sun or Moon starving Saturn, it is more difficult to heal that Rakshasa. If Saturn is healthy, we use that Rakshasa to benefit our healing.
Airavata Naga
The Naga represents a subconscious force that frees the Chariot from its fetters. Nagas are ruled by the Moon.
Airavata means ‘coming from Airavat” and Airavat is a water deity. He is a god of water and clouds. He is particularly satiating and refreshing. Water can exist in any context but Airavat is particularly satiating and refreshing.
Parjanya represents the state our consciousness is in on a regular basis. We are all craving that experience of constant satiation, that is the essence of this Naga, moving us forward to greater and greater fulfillment.
If Airavata Naga has not healed its worldly desires and the feeling of thirst, the person is stuck and the thirst can get twisted. Airavata can give substance abuse which will cause the chariot to be stuck even more.
Airavat is also an elephant and elephants represent the cosmic sound of AUM, the sound of the Source in creation. Elephants can communicate over long distances with ultra-low frequency sounds. Ganesha is symbol of AUM.
Summing up, if healthy, we realize there is always more wisdom, more creativity, more connection and can quench our thirst. If afflicted, we crave more and usually from unnatural sources that are unhealthy.
Senajit Yaksha
A Yaksha is a Nature Spirit that harnesses the horses to the Chariot. Horses represent the power of the Soul. Yakshas give opportunities in the phenomenal world. They are ruled by Mercury. All of the Yakshas have a militant quality to them.
Senajit is similar to the previous Yaksha of Susena. Sena means army or missile. It is also symbolic name for the body. Jit means Victory. Victory over the army, victory with a missile, victory over the body. Victory with or over an army means we can overcome everything. Whatever comes at us, we can overcome it.
Victory over the body does not mean repressing urges in the body. When we do that, we slip into deeper states of pathology. The body is not the enemy.
When we do not have a state of health, our body does things we do not want. It goes to extremes and excesses that don’t support our chariot moving forward. Victory over the body means being in a state of health. Health is an entire system where the body, mind and emotions all work together. We must heal any pathology on the level of origin. The cure happens at the level of the mind ultimately.
Every trauma lodges into our bodies. The body sidetracks when it is in a state of pathology. We cannot force the body into a different state, we cannot force our emotional body to feel differently. It is a losing battle to repress the body or force the body. We must heal on the level of origin.
Indra is the 6th from Parjanya ruled by the Sun. The Sun is the body and our mental health in general. We must improve upon our mind and body. No problems of emotion exist, let the emotion do what they want because we cannot control our emotions. Hands off policing the emotions. If we have crazy emotions, observe and discover why we have them, then cure them at the origin which is never at the level of emotion. Emotions are a response to our interpretation of life and we must change what is causing those responses and that is always a toxic load, either physical or mental or combination of the two. Negative, erroneous thoughts impact the organs which cause negative emotions. Exernal toxins also cause negative emotional responses because they also impact our organs. The mental, internal toxins are much stronger than the external, physical toxins.
Everything comes in through the senses, the eyes, ears, nose etc. and some of that phenomena can be very mentally damaging. Anything negative that comes from the outside is the external toxic load. If our mental (internal) toxic load is zero, nothing from the outside would have any effect. All we must do is reduce our toxic load to a sanitary level. Sanitary comes from sane. Don’t allow ourselves into an insane situation.
99% of the toxic load is in our mind. The Sun rules our body as a manifestation of our consciousness. Healing our mental pathology is the most important task at hand. Even if everyone believes something to be true, false ideas damage us.
When the body is in a state of pathology, it dictates the state of our love. The most extreme pathologies it can give are the most extreme inhibitions on one end of the spectrum. The most inhibited person will have a pathology manifested out of Senajit and the most inhibited person will have this Aditya. Our body does not allow you to put the harness on the horse.
Senajit can be the most uninhibited as well, especially around sexuality. That is the extreme of the pathology. This one has extremes of inhibition or no inhibition that get in the way.
Sometimes energy will erupt out of your body that is negative and may cause trouble. Something triggers us and the whole body shuts down.
At Senajit, we harness our horses because we are healthy enough that our body is not the master, our goals and consciousness are the master. The body will follow along, not that it won’t have certain triggers and inhibitions but we have victories over those. The good vision always wins.
The victory of the missile is when the arrow hits the mark. When we approach things in full health, we hit our mark every time. The entire being is in harmony.
Another meaning of Sena indicates a resolution of determination. “I have determination and I do it.”
The pathology in our body is all the negative energy in our consciousness . As we go through life, we identify to a greater or lesser degree, with these negative energies. We have a misidentification. The beauty we are begins identifying with the ugliness, especially that which was directed toward us by our parents, especially the mother. If the parent treats us abusively and with contempt, that is the parent’s ugliness. The infant begins to identify with the ugliness. We think these negative forces inside of us are part of us. They are not.
The best way to become healthy is to improve our identity, to identify with the parts that are really us and detangle ourselves from pathologies. We literally think those pathologies are our desires and part of our character. When we recognize our pathology, we begin to recognize that it is not who we are.
Visvavasu Gandharva
Gandharvas are musicians and warrior demi-gods who sing in front of the Chariot to inspire it forward. Gandharvas are ruled by Mars.
One of the qualities is being inordinately focused on women. He is protector of women. Protector and Keeper of unmarried women. He is also a protector of menstruating women. Menstruating is the system cleansing itself. Women need a mini-vacation and time to themselves while on her period. She needs a break during this time.
Visvavasu measures our spiritual capacity. He guards our consciousness that has not connected to the Source. Through spiritual and healing practices, we develop a consciousness where our connection to Spirit grows. The most common way we destroy our connection to Spirit is through substance abuse and destruction of others for pleasure (sadism). Substance abuse can destroy hormones in the brain. Extreme, repetitive, negative thoughts destroy our consciousness. Alzheimer’s and dementia can manifest through constant negative thinking. If our mind cannot form concepts of bliss, why pursue it?
A Saturn/Moon conjunction indicates a lot of heavy, painful emotions manifesting in our psyche. Jupiter rules the brain. Visvavasu protects us from negative thinking. Let all the negativity wash away.
It is important to surrender to the rain to allow it to wash away. The weather teaches us surrender. Snow is rain as well. When we go through difficult experiences in life, we need to surrender and let it go. Then we don’t harbor these negative thoughts like rage and resentment. When the negativity builds up, we want to do anything to escape it, including taking heavy drugs.
This Gandharva inspires us to protect ourselves by letting go of things in life, not holding onto resentments. If we hold onto them, they will drive us insane and into dementia, drive us to addictions. It is a critical thing to not destroy our consciousness. That is the love of this Gandharva.
Visvaci Apsara
The Apsaras are celestial nymphs ruled by Venus that dance in front of the Chariot to entice it forward. The Apsaras create a mood, feeling, ambiance that puts us in an emotional state for something to happen.
Visvaci is one of the best Apsaras. She indicates a feminine embodiment that goes with everything, walks with all, does everything. The quality of always being in the mood for everything. No matter what we are doing, we are in the mood for it. We spend so much of our time doing things we are not in the mood for.
The Gandharva Visvavasu can do anything. He is Visvaci’s husband and as a pair, they work together.
She teaches the lesson that desires are endless, no matter how much we have, we always want more, whether its money, fame, sex, love, beauty etc.
At the end of the day, we want complete closure with materiality and peace and that is what spiritual liberation is. Visvaci is the last Aditya/Apsara. In this world we have desires, they are fulfilled, then it ends. But it starts over again. The desire always fires up again, there is never lasting satiation. With spiritual practice, there is a desire, a connection is made, then that connection is made more deeply. With worldly desires, the connection is made but then moving on to something else, the desire returns and we do not go deeper. Eventually it becomes frustrating because the soul wants more depth, it cannot get it unless it goes deeper.
The 12th Aditya is not the end, it is the Ocean and you can never reach the bottom, you can always have a unique experience.
The Apsaras are the mothers of the greatest parts of humanity, the greatest beings of humanity. There is a divine quality to women called the Apsara. Giving birth is part of it because the lineages of the great beings come from the Apsaras.
The Apsara and Gandharvas forces are what we should strive to be as humans. They are the divine human qualities of male and female gender. We’ll be invaluable to our species if we can strive to behave like Gandharva and Apsara. The way Visvaci does this, is by making someone feel in the mood for whatever is happening.
By the time we arrive at Parjanya, there is no Self left, no Self that needs to be expressed. The Self wants spiritual connection. Just be in the rain of Spiritual connection. You are in the mood for everything because you can be connected to everything. Everything feels meaningful and purposeful because you are connected to it. That’s Visvaci’s role, to get us into that state. Listening to music is an Apsara thing and that can sometimes help you get into the mood.
Apsaras and Gandharvas are forces within us to do their jobs for us. If you have a planet in an Apsara, you don’t need a person to show up, you can activate the Apsara yourself. Wherever your planets are, you have those beings at your disposal and are supposed to use them and you’re going to use them.
A planet in Visvaci has the power to get us in the mood for anything. The person may struggle to get in the mood for things, like ugh! There is no way I want to do that! The Apsara is there but not functioning. It will cause trouble and we must turn that around. To get in the mood for something, we need to take an interest in it and find a connection to it. She helps us find the connection to that thing. We can always find a thread of rapport or similarity.
The Rishi, Gandharva and Apsara really have the most positive impact on our motivations. We may want to do what the Rishi says, the true thing, but we want to be motivated by the inspiration or mood. Apsara and Gandharva are the two greatest motivational forces.
Apsaras get us out of our head and into our heart. We are supposed to spend a healthy amount of time in our feelings.
